Embeded Question
An Embeded Question in NLP is a question that is inside a longer sentence marked out by voice tone or gesture.
It’s not the question it’s the way you ask it!
It is, I know, a woman kind of thing, that old cliché of ‘it’s not what you say it’s the way that you say it’, also we should consider the asking of questions, why we ask them, how we ask them and do we have an expectation of what the answers will be?
In understanding these factors and noticing how things change when we take them into consideration, we can optimise our outcomes by embedding a question to gain increased responsiveness in our clients.
I wonder, whether you know which foot will you become aware of first? If you were to know… are you going into a trance… fascinating is it not? Which of your feet will move first, how do you know or if you know that a sensation is there now?
The embedded question allows for choice, which we require to enable us to feel supported, that really it is all our own idea, because we choose to be aware of the left foot first, or not either is better.
Used in conjunction with the embedded command the embedded question is a powerful tool for change and the power lies in its simplicity. We use them all the time without realising it. I wonder if you are curious enough to ask us more about them now, who … will it be Jeff or will it be Anne… the choice is yours to make now?
