Panic attacks cured by Glasgow's premier NLP therapist
How can NLP help with panic attacks?
Panic attacks can be caused by various triggers (events which can cause the attack). Our body reacts in those moments in an exaggerated way. We feel overwhelmed by fear, anxiety, and sweating, we may start breathing fast, and feel unable to think rationally.
After the attack - thinking back - we may be unable to understand what had happened, why we had become irrational and how we could have lost control over the situation.
The NLP therapist will help you face these triggers - first in your imagination - so that you can see that the power behind them can slowly fade, and lose their grip on you. Later - in real life - these triggers will have lost their “hook” on you, forever. A “hook” is something that will trigger a reaction.
NLP can help identify the symptoms.
Panic attacks can occur in any environment and can strike completely out of the blue. Signs and symptoms may include some of the following:
- Breathing difficulties
- Tightness of the chest, inc. chest pain
- Sweating
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Tingling or numbness
- Choking
- Hot or cold flushes
- Feelings of dread
- Being terrified
Panic attacks sometimes last but a few minutes, but the experience can be imprinted in our mind forever. Clients who have a form of “panic disorder” are likely to suffer from the emotional toll that it places upon your body. Serious disruption to everyday living can arise from this condition, eventually leading to other symptoms:
Anticipatory Anxiety: Between panic attacks you end up feeling tense and anxious, instead of a normal person who would feel relaxed.
Phobic Avoidance: You have become aware of what triggers your panic attacks and will go any length to avoid situations that give arise to such attacks. The problem with this is that it can severely curtail your life, with difficult consequences both for yourself, but also for family and friends.
